  “You got it. I will be there.”

  Olivia started to explain about the wedding and the receptions. Leon walked back into the room with Teri asleep in his arms.

  “I need you to baby sit for me more often.” smiled Olivia, “By the way I will need you to baby sit for a week while we go on our honeymoon.”

  “Where are you going?” he asked handing Teri over to Olivia

  “I do not know. He said it is a surprise.” she said looking at him, “I love that man.”

  Leon rolled his eyes and left the room.

  “Leon, do not be jealous.” laughed Olivia

  “I am not.” he yelled back

  Natalie and Olivia laughed. Olivia kissed Natalie and took Teri home. Natalie went into her room and lay on her bed. She held his pillow tight as she drifted off to sleep. Leon came in and got into bed next to her. He kissed her and watched her until he went to sleep.

  Natalie went to the doctor’s office for her check up. She sat on the table waiting for the doctor results. Dr. Jones came in and smiled at her.

  “Natalie, are you taken any birth control?” he asked

  “No. Why?”

  He scratched his head and looked at her, “How old is your daughter?” he asked

  “She is six weeks old almost seven. Why are you asking? You are scaring me.” she said feeling her heart race

  “I did not mean to scare you but I have to ask this.” he said, “Did you have sex anytime doing the six weeks.”

  She blushed as she tried not to look at him, “One time.”

  He smiled, “Natalie, please remember the next time no sex until after your six week check up.”

  “I will Dr. Jones.”

  “I hope so because you are pregnant.”

  Natalie looked at him in shock. “What the hell? You mean that I am a freaking baby machine now.” she said hitting her head

  Dr. Jones laughed, “Natalie, you are extremely fertile during that time. Some women get pregnant and some don’t. Guess which one you are in?”

  “That is not funny.” she said getting down from the table, “We wanted more kids but not now.”

  “Do you need time to get yourself together?” he said smiling at her

  “This is not real.” she said, “How many weeks?”

  “You are exactly three weeks.” he said throwing up his hands smiling

  Natalie looked at him, “You are having way too much fun at my expense.”

  “You have made my day. I was having a bad day but you made it fun for me.”

  “I am happy to make your day.” she said as she got her things

  She left the doctors office and went to the store. She grabbed a pint of ice cream and chocolate cookies. She got home and sat in the den watching TV. She did not know what she was watching all she knew it was on. She was slowly eating her comfort food when Leon came home with Claire. He walked through the house and found her in his chair eating ice cream. She looked at him and rolled her eyes. Leon kept walking with Claire to her room and put her in her crib. He gave her the pacifier and closed the door. He took a deep breathe and walked back in the den.

  “Natalie, what is wrong?”

  Natalie looked at him with a spoon in her mouth. She got up and went into the kitchen. She put the ice cream in the freezer and took her cookies and put them in the cabinet. She stood in the doorway as he sat on the sofa trying to figure her out.

  “Natalie, what did the doctor say?” he asked looking at her

  “Before or after he was laughing.”

  “What?” he asked surprised

  “I think you should grab something to drink before I tell you what he said.” she said

  “You are acting like he told you were pregnant.” he said laughing

  She looked at him with a sour look, “You laughed just like Dr. Jones.” she said as she went to her bedroom

  Leon just looked at the screen. He sat there for a while before he got up and went to his room.

  “Natalie, are you positive?” he asked

  “Leon, I am pregnant to be exact three weeks pregnant.” she said holding the pillow tight

  “Wow, I do not know what to say.”

  “I do. You have to get yourself under control.” she said looking at him

  “What? You are blaming me.”

  “Yes, if you did not surprised me with a party and a beautiful necklace. I would not have been horny.”

  He smiled at her, “You were horny.”

  “Yes, I was.” she said angrily, “You with your Island accent, your deep voice and your lips” she said feeling excited. “Oh, no you don’t, you are such an ass.” she said leaving the room

  He followed her into the kitchen. She stood by the counter eating her cookie. Leon took the cookie away from her and placed his hands on either side of her. He looked at her smiling. Natalie knew that smile and she was not in the mood for it.

  Leon leaned towards her neck and began to talk in his island accent. He was talking in his deepest voice telling her dirty things. Natalie stood there unaffected at first but he started saying how he was going to make love to her then her body betrayed her.

  “You are a serious ass.” she said as she kissed him

  Leon smiled as she pulled his dreads. He looked at her with a desire in his eyes.

  “You have one more time to call me that and I will have to make you pay for it with non stop sex.”

  She smiled, “You are an ass.” she said pulling him closer

  He stopped her as he went to check on Claire. She was asleep. He went back to Natalie who was not in the kitchen anymore. He looked in the dining room and she was there sitting on the table topless.

  “You are a naughty girl.” he said as he stood between her legs.

  He kissed her neck and caressed her breast. She loved how he made her body feel. He spread her legs apart and began kissing her inner thigh and then he touched her spot and Natalie felt heat rising in her body. His dreads covered her thighs and she could not believe how soft they were. Natalie eyes rolled back in her head as her body erupted. Leon stood her up and laid her on the table. He entered her and her body rose off the table. His mouth made love to her breast as his thrust rocked her body.

  The room seemed to spin as they gave into their desires. Their bodies began to shake as it exploded into waterfall of love. Leon helped her up and kissed her cheek as he went to the bathroom to shower. Natalie put on her clothes and went to check on Claire. She was playing with her fingers. Natalie picked her up and took her to her room. Leon came out of the shower. She gave Claire to him and took her own shower. She let the water hit her body. She got out and wrapped a towel around her. She opened the door and saw Leon and Claire asleep on the bed. She put on her nightshirt and got in the bed with them. Claire held her dad’s dread in her hand.

  Natalie looked at her family and felt overjoyed. She touched her stomach and began to feel happy to be having another child. She did not know how the women at the shop would take it. She saw Leon‘s hand as he touched her stomach. She looked at him and smiled.

  “We will be fine.” he said

  “I am sorry for what I said early. You have this uncanny way of explaining things to me.” she said touching his dreads

  “I am a good salesman.” he smiled

  Natalie began to laugh when Claire moved. Natalie picked up her daughter and placed her in her crib. Natalie went in the kitchen. She grabbed some cleaning supplies and cleaned the table. She grabbed a glass of water and sat down at the table watching the moon. She wondered what the baby would look like. Would it be like his father or like her? She had never been so happy. She felt him behind her. He sat next to her and held her hand.

  “What were you thinking about?’ he asked kissing her hand

  “I was wondering what this child would look like. Would he look like you or me?”

  “It would be more like you.” he said pulling her near him, “Do you know I am the luckiest man?” he said touching her face

  “I have a beautiful, sexy wife, a beautiful daughter and two businesses that is doing quite well.” he smiled at her

  “Yes we are blessed.” she said

  He looked at her with a confused look on his face. “Natalie, we have never discussed religion. Why is that?”

  “I do not know. Let’s talk about it now. What was your religious upbringing?” she asked

  “I had none. Dad and mom never went to any churches and they did not force it on us. What about you?”

  “My parents were Christians and we went to church every Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday. When we were old enough, we stopped going. My parents did not force us to go but kept reminding us to go.” she said looking at the moon

  “Tell me about it.” he said drinking her water

  She smiled, “It is based on faith in God who created everything and everyone. He wants us to believe in him and trust him. We, as his creation sin by disobeying his one rule. Not eating from the tree of good and evil.” she said raising her eyebrow, “Now we are given over to our lust of the flesh and everything that goes along with it. God being all knowing had a plan in mind from the beginning of time to redeem us back to him. His son offered to be the sacrifice to redeem us. God accepted it. His son Jesus came to earth as a baby and grew up to be a man. He was sinless for the sinful. Every since he got here he did his father’s will. He gave us an example of what we should be. He healed people, brought people back from the dead, feed people and gave them God’s word.” she said looking at him as he listen, “Some people believed in him and some did not. The one that did not believe plot to kill him, Jesus knew this but he kept doing his Father’s will. One of Jesus followers who walked with him for three years and saw all these things plotted against him. Jesus, who is God knew these things and still kept him around. Judas, the man who betrays Jesus, took the guards to arrest Jesus. He kissed Jesus on the cheek to make sure they took the right one. Jesus went before the priests and Pharisees. They wanted to question him. They brought up the times he taught in the temple and healed on the Sabbath. They wanted to trap him but he did not say a word. They brought up that fact that he said that He and His Father are one. They decided to kill him but they could not do it because of their religious holiday. They took him to Pilot who was working for Cesar governing the land.” as she got up and got her cookies and more water, “Jesus did not say anything while being question by pilot. The roman soldiers took him and beat him with a whip that had sharp metal at the end of it. When it hit his back it torn into him, he was also beaten beyond recognition. They spit and mocked him. Then they presented him to the crowd and they yelled crucify him. They took Jesus and nailed his hands and feet to the cross. They hung him there with two other men. Even on the cross he told one thief that he would be with him in paradise. He died on the cross then three days later he got up out of the grave. Now He is sitting at the right hand of God the Father. He was killed for us to redeem us to God. Now we his human creation have a choice to believe on Jesus Christ who died for our sins and be saved to live with him forever or not believe and lived in a place that was meant for the devil and his angels.” she said looking at him

  “Which one did you choose?” he asked looking at her thoughtfully

  “I got saved when I was twelve and have been ever since. I know I do not show it by the way I act or talk but I am. The great thing about being saved is that I have an advocate, Jesus Christ, who pleads my case to the Father because the Devil is there talking against me.”

  Leon sat there thinking about what she said. He was in deep thought when she touched his arm.

  “Are you okay?”

  “Yes and no. That is a lot to take in, to die for his creation when they do not believe in him.” he said, “I always wonder about the human race and its beginnings. I could not take the theory of the big bang. I knew it was something bigger. I will need to explore this some more.”

  “If you want my mother’s pastor is still alive. We could meet with him.”

  “I would like that.” he said smiling at his wife, “What does God says about sex?” he asked her

  “No sex before marriage and after you are married all the sex that my husband can stand.” she said touching his hand, “I am paraphrasing.”

  “Hmmm” he said pulling her into his lap

  He began to kiss her neck. He whispered dirty talk in her ear as she melted into his arms. He picked her up and took her to their room. They made love. They lay in each others arm and slept. Leon dreams were unnerving and yet peaceful.

  Natalie told Olivia about her being pregnant. Olivia looked at her and started laughing.

  “Everyone needs to stop laughing.” she said becoming irritated

  “I am sorry. You can not help that you and Leon are rabbits.” she said laughing

  Natalie started to laugh as well. Olivia looked at her in awe.

  “He really does make you happy.”

  “Yes. He does. Every problem I seem to have he would help me to see that it is for a short time. He is loving and caring. When you get him mad, it does not consume him. He says his peace and let it go.”

  Olivia looked at her hands, “Do you think he would go back to St. Thomas for the wedding?”

  “I do not know.”

  “Quincy told me what happened and I am sorry that he went through losing his sister and mom then his dad. I need you there with me when I get married.” said Olivia looking sad

  “I will talk to him.” she said, “I have to go. I have a client coming in thirty minutes.”

  Olivia hugged her sister and kissed her. Natalie smiled and left the sandwich shop. She got to the salon before her client got there. She went into her office and came back out. She saw Mercedes and Marcus standing in her salon. Stacy and Jessie stood beside Natalie as she walked to the front. Nancy was on the phone. Natalie stood far away from them but close enough to speak.

  “What are you doing here?”

  “Natalie, we need to talk to you.”

  “We have nothing to say to each other. Marcus you smashed my place and I almost died. Mercedes you destroyed my car. We have said all we need to say.”

  Just then the door opened and Leon walked in. He stood behind them.

  “What do you two want?”

  Marcus turned around and looked at Leon, “We came to talk to Natalie.”

  Leon stood beside Natalie and looked at them, “Go ahead. Talk.” said Leon standing tall and with no emotions

  Mercedes looked at her then at Leon, “You never did that for me.” she said as a tear fell

  Leon held his composure and waited. Natalie looked at Marcus and he was not right.

  “What do you have to tell me?” she asked

  Marcus moved a little closer and everyone pushed Natalie back. Marcus held up his hand.

  “Can we all talk in private?” he asked

  Natalie looked at Leon, “I got you covered.” he said

  She smiled then turned back to Marcus, “Follow me.”

  Natalie walked to her office as Leon brought up the rear. Jessie and Stacy stayed close by. Natalie stood by her desk and Leon stood by the door. Mercedes and Marcus sat on the sofa.

  “What is it?” asked Natalie trying to remain calm

  “I want to apologize to you for what I did that cause you to go to the hospital. I saw the blood as they put you into the ambulance and I felt bad. I never meant to hurt you.” he said

  Natalie looked at him as he looked sick. “What is wrong with you?” asked Natalie

  “You never missed a beat.” he said as he smiled, “I am sick. I guess all these years of messing around finally caught up with me. I am dying and I am sad to say that I lost my son Jaylen to this disease.”

  Natalie sat in her chair as Leon leaned on the door frame.

  “I am sorry to hear that.” she said shockingly

  “Mercedes and I are still mourning. It has been
hard. If I could take his place, I would. I am talking to the women and asking then to get checked out.” he said

  Natalie looked at Leon with fear in her eyes. He stood by her and held her hand.

  “What do you have?” asked Natalie

  “I have AIDS.” he said

  Natalie jumped up, “You son of a bitch!” yelled Natalie as she began to cry

  “Natalie calm down.” said Marcus, “I am sorry.”

  “Sorry, you do not know the meaning of that damn word. You used women like a toy for your own amusement. Jaylen and every woman you slept with have paid for your damn sins. I swear if my husband and my two kids have it your ass will not have to wait on the disease to take you.”

  Marcus and Mercedes looked at Natalie’s face and knew she was not kidding.

  “From this day forward, forget you ever knew us. Live your life making peace with God.” she said through tears, “Get the hell out of my salon.” she said angrily as her body began to shake

  Marcus and Mercedes stood up and opened the door. Marcus turned around, “I am sorry.” he said

  “GET THE HELL OUT!” screamed Natalie

  Marcus closed the door. Natalie turned to Leon and began crying. He held her tight as she could not stop shaking. He looked at her as she shook worse.

  “Natalie!” yelled Leon

  She went limp in his arms as he screamed her name. Stacy and Jessie rushed in.

  “Call the ambulance!” he screamed

  Stacy ran to Nancy, “Call for an ambulance.”

  Leon held her close, “Natalie, please wake up.” he said trying to stay calm

  The paramedics rushed in and Leon put her on the floor. They began working on her. They put an oxygen mask on her.

  “She is pregnant.” he said fighting back tears

  They asked him what happened. Leon told them what happened. Natalie started to move. He pushed past the paramedics to get to her.

  “Natalie!” he said holding her hand

  Natalie smiled under the mask, “What happened?”

  “I do not know but do not do it again.” he smiling

  They looked at him, “Do you want us to take her to the emergency room?”
